For a probability distribution \(H\) on the sphere in \(\mathbb{R}^ 3\) the angular simplicial depth of a point \(p\) is defined as the probability that \(p\) lies in the simplex (spherical triangle) generated by three iid random variables distributed according to \(H\). A point \(p\) with maximum angular simplicial depth is denoted as angular simplicial median. Some further related notions are introduced on the circle and sphere and their relations investigated.
