There is defined a new space \(\mathcal G\) of test functions for the Fourier transform in \(\mathbb{C}^ n\), as follows: a function \(\phi: \mathbb{C}^ n\to\mathbb{C}\), analytic in each variable belongs to \(\mathcal G\), if for every \(\alpha>0\), the set \(\{e^{\alpha\rho(z)}|\phi(z)|: z\in{\mathcal B}_ \alpha\}\) is bounded in \(\mathbb{C}^ n\). Here, \(\rho(z)=\sum^ n_{k=1} |\text{Re}[z_ k]|\) and \({\mathcal B}_ \alpha=\{z\in\mathbb{C}^ n: |\text{Im}[z_ k]|\leq \alpha\) for \(k=1,\dots,n\}\), where \(z=(z_ 1,\dots,z_ n)\in\mathbb{C}^ n\). It is shown that the Fourier transform \(\mathcal F\) defined by \[ {\mathcal F}[\phi](z)=(2\pi)^{-n/2}\int_{\mathbb{R}^ n}\phi(\Lambda)\exp(- iz\Lambda)d\Lambda \] is a continuous, linear, one-to-one mapping from \(\mathcal G\) to \(\mathcal G\), and the usual Fourier inversion formula holds. Also, there holds the estimation \(\|{\mathcal F}[\phi]\|_ \alpha\leq (2\pi^{-1}\kappa^{-2})^{n/2}\|\phi\|_{\alpha+\kappa}\) for all \(\alpha,\kappa>0\), where \(\|\phi\|_ \alpha=\sup\bigl\{e^{\alpha\rho(z)}|\phi(z)|: z\in{\mathcal B}_ \alpha\bigr\}\). The set of these norms defines a topology in \(\mathcal G\). [Cf. also the following two reviews].
