    The author analyzes a Galerkin type approximation for the heat equation taking into account initial data only in \(L^ 2\). In his abstract he affirms ``we prove an optimal order error estimate with weight norm''. Actually, he does not compare his results with, for example, those unanimous accepted of \textit{J. H. Bramble}, \textit{A. H. Schatz}, \textit{V. Thomée} and \textit{L. B. Wahlbin} [SIAM. J. Numer. Anal. 14, 218-241 (1977; Zbl 0364.65084)].
