Centrifugal effect, which is likely to influence the seal performance, specially in low pressure applications, is investigated using the non- Newtonian power law model. The condition of symmetry of flow with respect to center line, assumed explicitly or implicitly by earlier workers, is not used in the present analysis. Finite difference method is used to obtain all the seal characteristics.
