A new family of symmetric 2-(\(v, k, {\lambda{}}\)) block designs (Q1209729)

In \textit{E. Spence}, \textit{V. D. Tonchev} and \textit{Tran van Trung} [A symmetric 2--(160,54,18) design, J. Comb. Designs 1, 65-68 (1993)] a new symmetric block designs was constructed. Using certain cyclic relative difference sets, the author generalizes this construction to an infinite series of symmetric 2-\((v,k,\lambda)\) designs with \[ v=(q+1)(q^{2t}- 1)/(q-1),\;k=q^{2t-1}(q+1)/2,\;\lambda=q^{2t-2}(q^ 2-1)/4, \] where \(t\geq 2\) and \(q\) is a prime power of the form \(2^ p-1\).
