A simple proof for a result by Kratzer and Thévenaz concerning the embedding of the Burnside ring into its ghost ring (Q1209824)

Let \(G\) be a finite group, \(\Omega(G)\) its Burnside ring and \(\tilde\Omega(G)\) the associated ghost ring. The authors use the Cauchy- Frobenius-Burnside relations [\textit{T. tom Dieck}, Transformation groups and representation theory, Lect. Notes Math. 766 (1979; Zbl 0445.57023)] to present a new and rather short proof of the embedding result by \textit{Ch. Kratzer} and \textit{J. Thévenaz} [Comment. Math. Helv. 59, 425-438 (1984; Zbl 0592.20004)].
