Let \(X\) be a compact metric space and \(f: X\to X\) be continuous. A subset \(M(f)\) of \(X\) is called measure centre of \(f\) if it is the least \(f\)- invariant compact set of measure one for every probability measure \(m\) for which \(f\) is measure preserving. Applying the concept of the weakly almost periodic point, the structure and the properties of the measure centre are studied. The author constructs an example to show that the measure centre may be contained in the closure of the set of all recurrent points. So the measure centre is considered as a subset of \(X\) without ``bad'' points from the viewpoint of ergodic theory. There is a connection with the study of chaotic behaviour of dynamical systems.
