Let \(\Sigma\) denote the family of functions \(g(z)=1/z+\sum_{n\geq 0} b_ n z^ n\) that are analytic and univalent in the punctured unit disk \(\Delta\backslash\{0\}=\{z: 0<| z|<1\}\). Let \(A\), \(B\), \(\delta\) be such that \(-1\leq B<1\), \(B<A\) and \(\delta>-1\). A function \(g\in \Sigma\) is in \(T_ \delta(A,B)\) if and only if \(g\) satisfies the subordination condition \[ -\left[{E^{\delta+1} g(z)\over E^ \delta g(z)}- 2\right]\prec {1+Az\over 1+Bz},\quad z\in\Delta \] and \(f\in \Sigma\) is in \(\Sigma^{*\lambda}(\beta)\) \((-\pi/2<\lambda<\pi/2,\;0\leq \beta<1)\) if and only if \[ -\text{Re }\left(e^{i\lambda} {zg'(z)\over g(z)}\right)>\beta \cos\lambda,\quad z\in\Delta, \] where \[ E^ \delta g(z)={1\over z(1-z)^{\delta+1}} * g(z),\quad z\in\Delta\{0\} \] and \(*\) denotes the Hadamard product (convolution) for meromorphic functions. Then \(g\in T_ 0(A,B)\) if and only if \[ -{zg'(z)\over g(z)}\prec{1+Ax\over 1+Bz},\quad z\in\Delta \] and so \(T_ 0(1-2\beta,- 1)\equiv\Sigma^{*0}(\beta)\). To some extent the work on univalent meromorphic functions has paralleled that of univalent analytic functions since one is tempted to search for a family of functions in \(\Sigma\) which is analogous to that of analytic case. Thus the family \(T_ \delta(A,B)\) introduced above is a natural analog of Ruscheweyh derivative of analytic functions in the open unit disk \(\Delta\). In this paper the author gives a necessary and sufficient condition, in terms of convolution, for a function \(g\in\Sigma\) to be in \(\Sigma^*(A,B)\) and \(\Sigma^{*\lambda}(\beta)\) respectively. Further the author gives containment relations for \(T_ \delta(A,B)\) and study certain integral transforms in the class \(T_ \delta(A,B)\) and in turn to the class \(\Sigma^*(A,B)\) and other classes which are much more general than the one considered by many people. Finally some sort of converse problem has also been studied. The techniques used for most of the results of this paper are differential subordination and Hadamard convolution.
