[For Parts I, II, cf. Algebra Anal. 2, No. 6, 161-167 (1990; Zbl 0727.12008), Zap. Nauchn. Semin. Leningr. Otd. Mat. Inst. Steklova 191, 101-113 (1991; Zbl 0738.12004).] Let \(k\) be an algebraic number field and \(K\) a finite normal \(p\)- extension of \(k\) with Galois group \(F\). Furthermore, let \(\varphi: G\to F\) be a surjective homomorphism with kernel \(B\), being a group of order \(p^ 4\). The main result of the authors states that the embedding problem \((K/k,G,\varphi)\) is solvable if and only if the corresponding local problems and the abelian problem \((K/k,G/B',\varphi')\) are solvable.
