    The paper studies a pursuit-evasion differential game problem where the evader (E) tries to escape from a circular region covered by the pursuer (P). One might think of a radar system monitored by P with the purpose of surveilling a rocket, E. The latter moves with bounded velocity but is capable of making instantaneous turns; P has bounded acceleration but can direct the acceleration instantaneously in any direction. The paper addresses the questions whether there exists a surveillance region from where E cannot escape and which strategy of pursuit P should employ. The problem is primarily studied as one of ``a game of kind'' with two possible outcomes: evasion or surveillance. The problem has connections to the isotropic rocket game and the homicidal chauffeur evasion game, see, for example, \textit{R. Isaacs} [``Differential games'' (1965; Zbl 0125.380)].
