Given a theta-summable Fredholm module over a Banach algebra with unit [see \textit{A. Connes}, K-theory 1, No.6, 519-548 (1988; Zbl 0657.46049)] it is possible to give a definition of its Chern character which allows to simplify Connes' theory [see \textit{A. Jaffe}, \textit{A. Lesniewski} and \textit{K. Osterwalder}, Commun. Math. Physics 118, No.1, 1-14 (1988; Zbl 0656.58048)]. In particular the Chern character of an idempotent is closed under some boundary operator and Fredholm modules are shown to be stable under perturbations.
