The authors study isometric immersions of Riemannian spaces in a real Hopf manifold \({\mathbb{R}}H^ n\) thought of as a local similarity manifold. An n-dimensional differentiable manifold is called a local similarity manifold if it admits a \(C^{\infty}\)-atlas whose transition functions are similarity transformations in \({\mathbb{R}}^ n\). The following main results are obtained. The standard unit sphere \(S^ m\) admits a minimal immersion in \({\mathbb{R}}H^ n\), \(n\geq m+1\), such that \(S^ m\) is normal to the characteristic field of \({\mathbb{R}}H^ n\). If \(M^ 2\) is a \(C^{\infty}\)-imbedded closed special Weingarten surface of genus zero in \((R^ 3-\{0\}, | x|^{-2}\delta_{ij}),\) then \(M^ 2\) is a sphere. If f: \({\mathbb{R}}H^ n\to {\mathbb{R}}\) is an isoparametric function and \(M_ c=f^{-1}(c)\) is a level hypersurface, \(c\in {\mathbb{R}}\), then the eigenspaces \(S_ j\) corresponding to the principal curvatures of \(M_ c\) are integrable and each leaf of \(S_ j\) is a totally umbilical submanifold of \(M_ c\).
