Of concern is the Schrödinger operator \(H=-d^ 2/dt^ 2+\sigma F(x_ t),\) where F is a smooth nonconstant period 1 function, \(\sigma\in {\mathbb{R}}\), and \(\{x_ t\}\) is a Wiener process on the circle S \((=\) [0,1] with endpoints identified). Of concern is the asymptotics of the integrated density of states N(\(\lambda)\). The main result is that, with probability one for \(h\in \min_{S}F,\max_{S}F]\), for \(\sigma =h\lambda\) (h\(\in {\mathbb{R}}\setminus \{0\})\), \[ N(\lambda)=(1/\pi)\sqrt{h\lambda}\int_{S}[(h-F(x))_+]^{1/2} dx+o(\sqrt{| \lambda |}),\quad as\quad h\lambda \to \infty. \] A similar asymptotic result is given for the highest Lyapunov exponent.
