In literature there appear at least two ways to generalize the topological \(T_ 1\)-axioms to fuzzy topological spaces: a fuzzy topological space X is a fuzzy \(T_ 1\)-space if (a) for any two distinct points \(p,q\in X\) there exist open sets U, V such that \(p\in U\), \(q\not\in U\), \(q\in V\), \(p\not\in V\), or (b) all singletons are fuzzy closed. It is well-known that for topological spaces these definitions are equivalent. However, in fuzzy topology (b) is stronger than (a). The authors propose a new definition for a fuzzy \(T_ 1\)-space, which turns out to be equivalent to (b). As the authors point out, if the fuzzy topology contains all constant functions then all these definitions are equivalent. This gives one more reason, in addition to those given by \textit{R. Lowen} [J. Math. Anal. Appl.56, 621-633 (1976; Zbl 0342.54003)], to include the constant functions to a fuzzy topology. For related notions and results see also \textit{P. Wuyts} and \textit{R. Lowen} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 93, 27-41 (1983; Zbl 0515.54004)].
