As in the preceding paper the author investigates the metric projection \(P_ G\) from \(C_ 0(T,X)\) to a finite-dimensional subspace G of \(C_ 0(T,X)\). First, he proves the following perturbation theorem: if \(f\in C_ 0(T,X)\setminus G\), then there exist \(g^*\in P_ G(f)\) and an open set \[ V\supset \{t\in T:\quad \| f(t)-g^*(t)\|_ X=\| f-g^*\| \}, \] such that, for any \(\epsilon >0\), there is an \(f_{\epsilon}\in C_ 0(T,X)\) satisfying \(\| f-f_{\epsilon}\| <\epsilon\) and \[ P_ G(f_{\epsilon})=\{g\in P_ G(f):\quad g(t)=g^*(t)\quad for\quad all\quad t\in V\}. \] Next, he uses this result to characterize the almost lower semicontinuity as well as the lower semicontinuity of \(P_ G\).
