The authors study decomposability problems for convex bodies with respect to Blaschke addition (defined by addition of the surface area measures, using Minkowski's existence theorem). For a convex body \(K\in\mathbb{R}^n\) \((n>3)\), centrally symmetric with respect to the origin, let \({\mathcal H}_K\) denote the class of all convex bodies with the same projection body as \(K\). A body \(H\in {\mathcal H}_K\) is called \(B\)-indecomposable in \({\mathcal H}_K\) if a representation of \(H\) as a Blaschke sum of two bodies from \({\mathcal H}_K\) is only possible with bodies homothetic to \(H\). The authors characterize, in terms of surface area measures, the class \({\mathcal I}_K\) of bodies that are \(B\)-indecomposable in \({\mathcal H}_K\). They also characterize the centrally symmetric bodies \(K\) for which \({\mathcal I}_K\) is dense in \({\mathcal H}_K\). In the proofs, interesting use is made of Lyapounov's convexity theorem for the ranges of non-atomic vector measures.
