    A two-dimensional Dirac system \[ \left(\begin{matrix} \partial_{ \overline z} & 0\\ 0 & \partial_z\end{matrix} \right)\varphi={1\over 2} \left( \begin{matrix} 0 & q\\ -\overline q & 0\end{matrix}\right)\varphi,\quad E(-kz) \varphi \mid_{|z|\to\infty}=I, \] is considered where \(z,k\in\mathbb{C}\) and \(E(kz):= \text{diag} (\exp(kz), \exp(\overline {kz}))\). The main result concerns the construction of special basis functions of this system in the space of smooth integrable functions of two real variables under the condition that \[ {1 \over 2\pi}\sup_{z\in\mathbb{C}} \iint{\bigl|q(x+iy)\bigr|\over\bigl|z-(x+iy) \bigr|} dx dy<1. \]
