The paper concerns the algebraic aspects of the theory of the so called quasiexactly solvable equations. Let \(P(N,V)\) denote the linear space of polynomials of degree less than or equal to \(N\) in \(V\) independent variables. The matrix differential operators leaving the space \(P(N,V)\oplus P(M,V)\) invariant are classified. The set of underlying abstract associative algebras is constructed. They appear to be parametrized by \(V\), \(\Delta \equiv| N-M|\) and \(\Delta-1\) arbitrary complex parameters. In this way a class of abstract algebras is obtained which describe hidden symmetries of quasiexactly solvable systems. As a next step the representations of these algebras should be considered. Once all representations are constructed in terms of matrix differential operators, one obtains all quasiexactly systems with a given symmetry structure.
