    Let \(W:=\exp (-Q)\) where \(Q:R\rightarrow R\) is even and continuous and have faster than polynomial growth in infinity. Let \(x Q'(x)\) be strictly increasing in \((0,\infty), \lim_{x\rightarrow 0+} xQ'(x)=0\) and let the function \( T(x):=\frac{xQ'(x)}{Q(x)}\) be quasi-increasing in \((C,\infty)\) for some \(C>0\), \(\lim_{x\rightarrow\infty}T(x)=0\) and \(\frac{yQ'(y)}{xQ'(x)} <A(\frac{Q(y)}{Q(x)})^B, y\geq x\geq D\) for some \(A,B,D > 0\). The number \(a_n\) is defined as the positive root of the equation \(u= \frac{2}{\pi}\int_0^1\frac{a_n tQ'(a_nt)}{(1- t^2)^{1/2}}dt, u>0\). Then by definition \(\sigma(t):=\inf\{a_n:\frac{a_n}{n}\leq t\}\) and \(\Phi_ t(x):=| 1-\frac{ 1}{\sigma(t)}|^{1/2} +T(\sigma(t))^{-1/2}\). The author considers weighted modulus of continuity \[ w_{r,p} (f,W,t):=\sup_{0<h\leq t} \| W(\Delta^r_{h\Phi_t(x)} f)| L_p (| x |\leq \sigma(2t))\| + \] \[ \inf \{\|(f-R)W| L_p(| x |)\geq \sigma(4t)\|: \text{deg } R < r \} \] and proves direct and converse theorems in terms of this modulus and an equivalence result concerning the special \(K\)-functional.
