Let \(R\) be a commutative ring with unity and \(L\) a complete completely distributive lattice with the least element 0 and the greatest element 1. Let \(X\) be the set of 2-valued prime fuzzy ideals of \(R\) defined by \textit{U. M. Swamy} and \textit{K. L. N. Swamy} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 134, No. 1, 94-103 (1988; Zbl 0663.16019)]. Then the fuzzy prime spectrum \(2\text{-Fspec}(R)\) is a compact \(T_0\)-space. Furthermore, for \(L = [0,1]\), if \(\alpha\in [0,1),\) \(\mathcal{A}_\alpha = \{J\in X\mid \text{Im }J = \{\alpha, 1\}\}\). Then \(\mathcal{A}_\alpha\) is a compact subspace of the fuzzy spectrum \(\text{2-Fspec}(R)\) [see \textit{R. Kumar}, Fuzzy Sets Syst. 46, No. 1, 147-154 (1992; Zbl 0770.13016)]. By using a not so restrictive definition of prime fuzzy ideals [\textit{H. V. Kumbhojkar} and \textit{M. S. Bapat}, Fuzzy Sets Syst. 37, No. 2, 237-243 (1990; Zbl 0709.16001)], let \(\mathcal{X}\) denote the prime fuzzy ideals of \(R\) and \(\text{Fspec}(R)\) denote the fuzzy prime spectrum on \(\mathcal{X}\) [\textit{H. V. Kumbhojkar}, Fuzzy Sets Syst. 62, No. 1, 101-109 (1994; Zbl 0832.54004)]. In the paper under review the author proves that \(\mathcal{A}_\alpha\) is homeomorphic to \(\text{Spec}(R)\) and the fuzzy spectrum \(2\text{-Fspec}(R)\) is homeomorphic to the product space \(\text{Spec}(R)\times [0,1)\). The author also proves that \(\text{Fspec}(R)\) is not a \(T_0\)-space. In general, \(2\text{-Fspec}(R)\) is not a subspace of \(\text{Fspec}(R)\) by some examples. As an important part of this paper, the author points out that the fact \(Y(J) = Y(\gamma J)\) established by \textit{R. Kumar} (loc. cit.) appears to be overlooked. The result \(Y(J) = Y(\gamma J)\) holds if we accept the nil radical of \(R\) is defined as the intersection of all the fuzzy prime ideals of \(R\).
