Two equivalent problems: Gyrostats in free motion and parametric quadratic Hamiltonians (Q1267585)

(From the introduction) The gyrostat in free motion can be described by a multi-parameter quadratic Hamiltonian on the unit sphere. We show that to each type of motion (depending on the moments of inertia and the rotors that act simultaneously) corresponds exactly one parametric quadratic Hamiltonian. Hence a real physical problem admits an adequate Hamiltonian description.
