Gradings on octonions (Q1270116)

In [J. Algebra 196, 171-184 (1997; Zbl 0899.16023)] \textit{O. N. Smirnov} studied the finite gradings on simple associative algebras. Here the author considers the more general case of alternative algebras. In particular, he determines all the different ways of grading any Cayley-Dickson (or octonion) algebra. As a consequence, he also obtains all the gradings on the central simple non-Lie Malcev algebras over fields of characteristic different from 2 and 3.
