The authors develop a structure theory of vertex operator algebras containing a certain tensor algebra of the Virasoro vertex operator algebras with central charge \(1/2\). Interesting examples of such algebras are the moonshine module vertex operator algebra and certain lattice operator algebras, in particular, when the lattices are constructed from binary codes. There are overlappings between this work and those of \textit{M. Miyamoto} [J. Algebra 179, 523-548 (1996); ibid. 181, 207-222 (1996; Zbl 0857.17026); and ibid. 201, 115-250 (1998; Zbl 0908.17019 (see below))].
