An independent proof is given of the fact that for any conformally symplectic cocycle there is a symmetry of the Lyapunov spectrum. The proof is based on an alternative description of Lyapunov exponents. It is shown that the Gaussian isokinetic dynamics can be viewed as a conformal Hamiltonian system. The results were extended to systems with collisions, taking advantage of the fact that this formalism works equally well for both, collisions and flows. The symmetry of the Lyapunov spectrum for any invariant measure was proven but not only for the SRB measure, which is the easiest to access numerically. It is shown that the Gaussian isokinetic dynamics on a Riemannian manifold can be given the same treatment. The results are applied to Nose-Hoover dynamics.
