The author studies functions in the unit ball \(B\) in \(\mathbb C^n\) annihilated by the differential operators \(\Delta_{\alpha,\beta}, \alpha, \beta\in\mathbb C\), given by \[ \Delta_{\alpha,\beta} = (1-| z| ^2)\left\{\sum_{i,j}(\delta_{i,j} - z_i\overline z_j)D_i\overline D_j + \alpha R +\beta\overline R - \alpha\beta\right\}, \] where \(R=\sum z_iD_i\) is the radial derivative. These operators were introduced by \textit{D. Geller} [Duke. Math. J. 47, 365-390 (1980; Zbl 0474.43012)]. With \(\Delta_{\alpha,\beta}\) there is associated a Poisson kernel \(P_{\alpha,\beta}(z,\zeta)\), \(z\in B\), \(\zeta\in\partial B\). One of the main results of the paper is the following theorem. Let \(f\in L^2(\partial B) \) and \(F(z) = \int_S P_{\alpha,\beta}(z,\zeta)f(\zeta)d\sigma(\zeta)\) where \(\text{Re }(n+\alpha+\beta)>0\) and \((n+\alpha)\not\in\mathbb Z_{-}, (n+\beta)\not\in Z_{-}\). Then the following are equivalent: (i) \(f\in \text{BMO}\), (ii) \(d\mu(z) = | \nabla F(z)| ^2(1-| z| ^2)dm(z)\) is a Carleson measure, (iii) \(d\nu(z) = | \nabla_TF(z)| ^2 dm(z)\) is a Carleson measure. An analogous type characterization of the Bloch space of \((\alpha,\beta)\)-harmonic functions is also given.
