Let \(\Sigma\) be some compact Riemann surface and let \(L\) be a complex line bundle over \(\Sigma\), equipped with a Hermitian metric \(\langle.,.\rangle\). For a section \(u\) of \(L\), we write \(| u(x)|= \langle u(x),u(x)\rangle^{1/2}\). For a parameter \(\varepsilon> 0\), the self-dual Ginzburg-Landau functional \[ E_\varepsilon(u, A;\Sigma)= \int_\Sigma \Biggl[\varepsilon^2| F|^2+|\nabla_A u|^2+{1\over 4\varepsilon^2} (1-| u|^2)^2\Biggr] d\Sigma \] is defined through a section \(u\) of \(L\) and a connection \(A\) on \(L\), where \(\nabla_A\) is the covariant derivative defined by a real-valued connection \(A\), and \(F\) is the curvature of \(A\). The author proves the following: If \((u_\varepsilon, A_\varepsilon)\) are minimizers of the functional \(E_\varepsilon\) with fixed \(d= \text{deg }L\in \mathbb{Z}\). Then for some subsequence \(\varepsilon= \varepsilon_n\to 0\), there exist finite points \(x_1,\dots, x_k\in\Sigma\) such that \(| u_\varepsilon|^2\to 1\), \(|\nabla_{A_\varepsilon} u_\varepsilon|^2\to 0\) and \(| dA_\varepsilon|^2\to 0\) uniformly on any compact subset of \(\Sigma\setminus\{x_1,\dots, x_k\}\).
