This paper provides uniform almost sure rates of convergence for \(U\)-statistics with first order degeneracy. This result is then applied to provide sufficient conditions for the law of the iterated logarithm under a bracketing condition for non-degenerate \(U\)-statistics. This result generalises that of \textit{M. Arcones} [J. Multivariate Anal. 47, No. 1, 139-151 (1993; Zbl 0780.60030)].
