The article provides a parallel iterative solver for finite element discretizations of elliptic boundary value problems on unstructured grids. The solver assumes the discretization to be given in the form of stiffness matrices, as usual in finite element methods. It parallelizes matrix-vector operations, and provides additive Schwarz preconditioners. Numerical experiments illustrate the speedup provided by the solver.
