This paper deals with analysis on homogeneous cones in \(\mathbb{R}^n\). Homogeneous cones are open convex cones in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) that are also homogeneous spaces and they are more general than the symmetric cones. The geometry and analysis on symmetric cones and the complex tube domains associated to them are dealt with excellently in the recent book titled [Analysis on symmetric cones (Oxford 1994; Zbl 0841.43002)] by \textit{J. Faraut} and \textit{A. Korányi}. The theory of homogeneous cones was founded by Koecher, Vinberg and Gindikin and analysis on homogeneous cones was developed largely by Gindikin. There are infinitely many types of homogeneous cones and their classification is far from being complete, unlike the case of symmetric cones. In this paper the author makes an attempt to generalize the results that are true for symmetric cones to the more general homogeneous cones. The author eventually intends to reprove some of the results of Gindikin on homogeneous cones in the light of Vinberg's theory. In sections 2 and 3 she reviews some properties of homogeneous cones as developed by Vinberg. In section 4 the author generalizes the notion of power function \(\tau\to\tau^\alpha\) in one variable to \(n\) dimensions. In sections 5, 6 and 7 she discusses the class of integral transforms with homogeneous kernels like the Laplace transforms, the Riemann Liouville operator and Stieltjes transforms and in these cases she obtains an \(n\)-dimensional analog of the following classical Abelian theorem for Laplace transforms: If \(f(t)\sim t^\alpha\), \(t\to\infty\), then \(Lf(t)\sim \Gamma (\alpha+1) t^\alpha\), \(t\to\infty\), where \(\alpha > 0\) and \(f\) is a positive function defined on \((0, \infty)\) with \(Lf(t)= \int^\infty_0e^{-u/t} f(u)du/u\).
