Let \(A\) be any Banach lattice which is also an abstract \(L\)-space. By Kakutani's representation theorem there is some compact Hausdorff space \(K\) such that \(A'\cong C(K)\) and \(A''\cong M(K)\) holds isometrically. If \(A\) is additionally a Banach lattice algebra one would like to equip the Banach lattice \(M(K)\) with a multiplication, too. This is done by the author in the following way. The multiplication on \(A\) is called to be almost interval preserving if for all \(a,b\in A_+\) the set \(a\cdot[0,b]\) is dense in \([0,a\cdot b]\). Suppose now that \(A\) satisfies all of the above mentioned conditions and suppose that the norm functional on \(A\) is multiplicative. Then there is some natural multiplication on the compact space \(K\) making it to a compact semigroup, and with this multiplication a convolution can be introduced on \(M(K)\), which makes \(M(K)\) to a Banach lattice algebra with interval preserving multiplication containing the algebra \(A\) isometrically as a solid subalgebra.
