Suppose \(A\) is an AF algebra and \(\alpha\in \Aut(A)\). Let \(H_{\alpha}\) be the subgroup of \(K_{0}(A)\) given by all elements of the form \(\alpha_{*}(x)-x\) for \(x\in K_{0}(A)\). The author proves that the following conditions are equivalent: 1. \(A\times_{\alpha} \mathbb{Z}\) is AF embeddable. 2. \(A\times_{\alpha} \mathbb{Z}\) is quasidiagonal. 3. \(A\times_{\alpha} \mathbb{Z}\) is stably finite. 4. \(H_{\alpha}\cap K_{0}^{+}(A)=\{0\}\). As applications of the above theorem, the author 1) proves that \(A\times_{\alpha} \mathbb{Z}\) is AF embeddable if for every \(x\in K_{0}(A)\), there exists an integer \(n> 0\), such that \(\alpha_{*}^{n}(x)=x\), which generalizes a result of Voiculescu; 2) recovers Pimsner's criterion for AF embeddability of crossed products of \(C(X)\) by \(\mathbb{Z}\) in the case when \(X\) is compact metrizable and totally disconnected; and 3) shows that if \(A\times_{\alpha} \mathbb{Z}\) is AF embeddable, then one can find a *-monomorphism \(\phi:A\times_{\alpha} \mathbb{Z}\to B\), where \(B\) is AF and ker \(\phi^{*} \) is equal to the torsion subgroup of \(A\times_{\alpha} Z\).
