The paper studies the stability of the optical caustic generated by an initial wavefront with an \(r\)-corner. The \(r\)-corners are described by means of the so called regular \(r\)-cubic configurations at points of the cotangent space, which is a generalization of Lagrangian submanifolds [see, e.g., \textit{N. H. Duc}, Kōdai Math. J. 17, No. 3, 627-635 (1994; Zbl 0831.57020) and \textit{T. Tsukada}, Asian J. Math. 1, No. 3, 572-622 (1997; Zbl 0903.58003)]. The results involve the stability under perturbation of initial hypersurfaces and the realization of a given caustic as a stable caustic. In particular, the classification of stable optical caustics with \(r\)-corners is reduced to the classification of the stable generating families under the reticular \(R^+\)-equivalence introduced in the above mentioned paper by the author.
