    An elegant formula is given for an action of the Virasoro group Vir. Let \(D= \{z\in\mathbb{C}\mid | z|\leq 1\}\) and let \({\mathcal F}\) be the space of all holomorphic functions \(f\) on \(D\), which are univalent, smooth up to boundary satisfying the conditions \(f(0)= 0\), \(f'(0)= 1\). If we write \(f(z)= z\left(1+ \sum_{n\geq 1} c_nz^n\right)\), we can consider \(\{c_n\}\) as coordinates on \({\mathcal F}\), which provide an embedding of the infinite-dimensional manifold \({\mathcal F}\) into \(\mathbb{C}^\infty\). Let \(G= \text{Diff}_+(S^1)\) be the group of all orientation preserving diffeomorphisms \(\gamma\) of \(S^1\). Following his previous paper [Funct. Anal. Appl. 21, 122-125 (1987; Zbl 0647.58010)], the author first establishes a bijection between \(M= \text{Diff}_+(S^1)/S^1\) and \({\mathcal F}\) and then considers the left action of \(G\) on \({\mathcal F}\), giving a formula for the corresponding infinitesimal action \(L_V\in\text{Vect }{\mathcal F}\) for a vector field \(V\) on \(S^1\). Next, the author recalls the Virasoro-Bott group \(\text{Vir}= G\ltimes\mathbb{R}\) which is the central extension of \(G\) defined by using the Bott cocycle. Then the author considers the action of Vir on \({\mathcal F}\) and then, by making use of the Kähler polarization on \({\mathcal F}\), a representation \(T\) of Vir in the space \(H({\mathcal F})\) of analytic functions on \({\mathcal F}\) defined by \((T(\gamma, \alpha)F)(f)= A((\gamma, \alpha),f) F(\gamma^{-1} f)\) for \((\gamma,\alpha)\in\text{Vir}\), \(f\in{\mathcal F}\), and \(F\in H({\mathcal F})\), where \(A((\gamma,\alpha),f)\) is for each \((\gamma, \alpha)\in\text{Vir}\) a nowhere vanishing analytic function on \({\mathcal F}\) satisfying the cocycle condition. Finally, the author gives, among other things, the explicit formulas for the action of Vir in the space of polynomial functions in the complex coordinates \(\{c_n\}\) on \(M\simeq{\mathcal F}\). \{Reviewer's note: The right-hand side of the equality (15) should contain one more term depending on \(a\in\mathbb{R}\), while the second term of the left-hand side of (16) should be trivially corrected\}.
