It is proved that for all complex \(\lambda\) with \(| \arg\lambda| \leq\pi/(2n)\) the differential equation \[ y''-(q_0(x)+\lambda q_1(x)+\dots+\lambda^{n-1}q_{n-1}(x))y =\lambda^{2n}y \] has a solution \(f(x,\lambda)\) satisfying \(f(x,\lambda)\sim\exp(-\lambda^nx)\) as \(x\to\infty\). This solution is obtained in the form \[ f(x,\lambda)=\exp(-\lambda^nx)+\int_x^\infty A(x,t-x)\exp(-\lambda^nt) dt, \] where \(A(x,t)\), \((\partial/\partial x)A(x,t)\) and the fractional \(t\)-derivatives \(D_t^{m/n}A(x,t)\) are integrable with respect to \(t\in(0,\infty)\) and satisfy certain bounds. The results are a direct generalization of those of \textit{B. Ya. Levin} [Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR 106, No. 2, 187-190 (1956; Zbl 0070.10803)] and \textit{V. A. Marchenko} [Sturm-Liouville operators and applications, Birkhäuser OT 22, Basel etc. (1986; Zbl 0592.34011)] for \(n=1\).
