For the Vlasov-Maxwell system, which describes a multicomponent plasma containing electrons and positively charged ions of various kinds, sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of bifurcation points \(\lambda_0 \in \mathbb{R}^+\) corresponding to distribution functions of the form \[ f_i(r, v) = \lambda \widehat{f_i}(-\alpha_iv^2 + \varphi_i(r), vd_i+\psi_i(r)). \] It is assumed that the charge density \(\varrho\) and the current density \(j\) satisfy homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions at the boundary of the domain \(D\subset \mathbb{R}^3\). After introducing the model and calculating the steady state solutions the bifurcation equations are derived and studied for solutions. Further the asymptotics of nontrivial solutions of the Vlasov-Maxwell system is constructed in the neighborhood of the bifurcation point.
