Fuzzy and neural: interactions and applications (Q1277796)

The book presents selected topics on the interactions and applications of fuzzy logic and neural nets. It is a survey of the authors' own research in the area and brings together their publications over the past ten years. Only a few key references to other authors are provided. The 12 chapters cover various aspects such as approximations between fuzzy systems and neural nets, building hybrid neural nets to equal fuzzy systems, using neural nets to solve fuzzy problems, approximations between fuzzy neural nets and other fuzzy systems, constructing hybrid fuzzy neural nets for certain fuzzy systems, or computing with words. The book is not intended to be used primarily as a textbook for a course. Indeed, some important aspects such as fuzzy control are not treated in depth which would be needed for a real understanding.
