The paper deals with the qualitative analysis of steady-state solutions for a nonlinear parabolic system with small diffusion. The authors apply the method of quasi-normal forms for constructing auto-oscillations, and they obtain the existence of a structurally stable equilibrium cycle. There are also studied the dynamics of the quasi-normal form, as well as the stability and bifurcation properties of travelling waves.
