    Let \(S_n(x)\) be a partial sum of the Taylor series of the function \(e^{-x}\). In the paper the following theorem is proved. Let \[ a_n = \sup_{x\geq 0}\bigg| \dfrac{1}{s_n(x)} - \dfrac 1{e^x}\bigg| ,\qquad S_n(x) = \sum\limits_{k=0}^n \dfrac{x^k}{k!}. \] Then the following asymptotic expansion \[ a_n = \dfrac{2^{-n}}{\sqrt{2\pi n}} \bigg(1 + \dfrac{c_1}{n} + \dfrac{c_2}{n^2} + \dots\bigg) \] is valid, where \(c_1\), \(c_2\), \(\dots\) are some rational constants.
