The authors study operators of the form \[ Au=(1/2\pi i) \int_{ \Gamma_\gamma} dz\int_R \exp\bigl[i(t-t') z\bigr]a (z)u(t')dt' \] on the cylinder \(C=\mathbb{R} \times X\), where \(X\) is a smooth compact manifold and \(\Gamma_\gamma= \mathbb{R}+i \gamma\). It is assumed that \(a\) is a meromorphic function on a strip \(\Xi=\{z\in \mathbb{C};\text{Im} z\in (a,b)\}\) which takes values in the space of classical pseudodifferential operators of order \(m\) on \(X\) and that \(\gamma \in (a,b)\). As for \(u\), it is taken in some natural weighted Sobolev space \(H^{s, (\omega-, \omega_+)}\), where the \(\omega_-, \omega_+\) are meant to measure the behaviour of \(u\) when \(t\to-\infty\) and \(+ \infty\) respectively. Under suitable additional assumptions, the authors show that \(A\) is Fredholm and prove an index formula similar to the logarithmic residue formula of Gohberg-Signal in operator theory.
