\textit{F. Schipp} [Acta Math. Acad. Sci. Hung. 20, 263-274 (1969; Zbl 0189.07802)] proved that the Walsh-Fourier series of an integrable function is almost everywhere strongly summable. Here, the author obtains \(L^p\) inequalities for the strong means of the Vilenkin-Fourier series of a function \(f\) in terms of a local integrated modulus of continuity, and weak type \((1,1)\) estimates for a maximal function (via the BMO norm) of a step function formed by linear combinations of the partial sums of the Vilenkin-Fourier series of \(f\) weighted by characteristic functions of ``\(M_n\)''-adic intervals. Both results require that the Vilenkin system is of bounded type, and were announced in previous works by the author.
