This paper deals with a system comprising \(n>2\) elements in parallel with exponential times to failure. A \(\cdot\)/G/1/FIFO facility repairs faulty elements both from the system and from an exogenous Poisson stream. At the conclusion of any repair, if there are two or more faulty system elements, then these are replaced from an unlimited reserve stock. Estimates are submitted for the probability and expected number of occurrences of system failure during a typical interval between successive epochs at which the facility becomes idle. However, these epochs may witness either one or zero faulty system elements, and hence appear not to constitute regeneration epochs in the way that is claimed.
