The analysis of traveling wave solutions to implicit PDEs, which connect two equilibria, is considered. Using the structure of the traveling wave solution yields a DAE. To illustrate this, the dissipative magnetohydrodynamics equations (MHD) with resistivity, viscosity, and thermal conductivity is discussed. Applying the results from \textit{S. L. Campbell}, \textit{R. Hollenbeck}, \textit{K. Yeomans} and \textit{Y. Zhong} [Numer. Algorithms 19, No. 1-4, 73-83 (1998; Zbl 0929.34002)], see the review above, conditions on the resulting DAE and, in particular, the existence of trajectories between equilibria are investigated. Nice pictures of the solution manifold for various problem parameters are given.
