The authors consider a discrete delay problem with negative feedback \[ \dot x=f(x(t),x(t-1)), \quad x(t)=\varphi(t), \quad t\in [-1,0], \tag{1} \] and the corresponding discretization \[ \begin{aligned} \dot y_0(t)&= f(y_0,y_n),\;\dot y_1(t)=n(y_0-y_1),\dots,\;\dot y_n(t)=n(y_{n-1}-y_n),\\ y_0(0)&= \varphi(0),\;y_1(0)=\varphi \bigl(-\tfrac{1}{n}\bigr),\dots,\;y_n(0)=\varphi(-1).\end{aligned} \tag{2} \] The problem (1) is assumed to have a global attractor which admits a Morse decomposition. Under these assumptions the existence of a global attractor for discretization (2) is proved. Following [\textit{T. Gedeon} and \textit{K. Mischaikow}, J. Dyn. Differ. Equations 7, No. 1, 141-190 (1995; Zbl 0823.34057)] this attractor admits a Morse decomposition. The paper presents certain continuity results about the Morse sets. In particular, in the case \(f(x,y)=f(y)\) the individual Morse sets are proved to be upper semicontinuous at \(n=\infty\).
