    The author investigates sufficient conditions for the global asymptotic stability of retarded functional-differential equations of the form \[ \dot{x}(t)=-D(t)(x(t))+W_0(x(t))h(x(t))+W_1(x(t))h(x(t-r(t))), \] where \(D\), \(h:\mathbb{R}^n\to \mathbb{R}^n\) are continuous maps with \(D(0)=0\), \(h(0)=0\), and the \(n\times n\) matrices \( W_0\) and \( W_1\) are continuous. An application of the results to Hopfield-type neural networks as well as to hybrid, cellular neural networks is explored.
