Summary: Binary clans arise from binary trees very much like integers arise from natural numbers. We prove that there are \(2^{\aleph_0}\) non-isomorphic binary clans; more precisely, an isomorphic class of binary clans is determined by the similarity class of a denumerable sequence, \({\mathfrak s}: \mathbb{N}\to 2\), where two sequences are called ``similar'' when they eventually coincide, up to a translation.
