This paper proposes some improvements of the ``differential quadrature method''. These improvements are mainly related to the a priori incorporation of the boundary conditions into the weighting coefficient matrices. This new process is illustrated upon the Poisson equations and upon the steady-state and transient-state convection-diffusion problems in the two-dimensional case. Then, fast algorithms to solve the resulting algebraic matrix equations are discussed by reference to the number of required scalar multiplications. Finally, an extension to the three-dimensional steady-state convection-diffusion equation is proposed. The authors have not included any recalls concerning the difference quadrature methods nor numerical experiments. Otherwise, the presentation is clear and attractive.
