Let \(X=G/K\) be a Riemannian symmetric space. In this paper the author considers discrete ``generic'' subgroups \(\Gamma\) of \(G\) and \(\Gamma\)-invariant conformal densities. Let \(\delta(\Gamma)\) be the critical exponent, defined as the infimum of the exponents \(s\) so that the sum of \(e^{-s \text{dist}(x_0, \gamma x_0)}\) over the subgroup \(\Gamma\) is convergent. Let \(X_{\text{reg}}(\infty)\) be the set of regular points of the geometric boundary \(X(\infty)\) of \(X\). It is proved that all \(\Gamma\)-invariant conformal densities of dimension \(\delta(\Gamma)\) on \(X_{\text{reg}}(\infty)\) (called also Patterson-Sullivan densities) have their supports in a single and regular \(G\)-orbit \(G\xi_{v}\), where \(\xi_v\) is an element in \(X(\infty)\) corresponding to an element \(v=v(\Gamma)\) of the tangent space of \(X\) at the (distinguished) point \(x_0\). When \(\Gamma\) is a lattice the author determines the critical exponent \(\delta(\Gamma)\) explicitly in terms of root systems.
