The following system of semilinear elliptic equations \[ \begin{cases} -\Delta u= -u(u- 1)(u- a)-v\quad &\text{in }\mathbb{R}^N,\\ -\Delta v= \delta\cdot(u- \gamma v)\quad &\text{in }\mathbb{R}^N,\\ u(x)\to 0,\quad &\text{if }| x|\to\infty,\\ v(x)\to 0,\quad &\text{if }| x|\to\infty\end{cases}\tag{\(*\)} \] is considered. Under some assumptions on the parameters \(\gamma\), \(\delta\) and \(a\), the authors proved that there exists a positive solution to the system \((*)\) and \(u\), \(v\) are radially symmetric and decreasing. The main idea of the proof is the construction of the solution by using solutions to the systems corresponding to the balls \(B_R\) and letting \(R\to\infty\). In order to find the solutions on the ball \(B_R\), the authors change the system \((*)\) into a quasimonotone one by a suitable transformation. Thus, the quasimonotone method is exploited.
