Let \((X,\rho,\mu)\) be a space of homogeneous type in the sense of Coifman and Weiss. Singular integrals on \(X\) of the type \[ T_\gamma f(x)= \int_X (\rho(x,y))^{\gamma-1} f(y) d\mu, \quad 1\leq \gamma<1, \] are investigated. To describe the mapping properties of the above integral operators two characteristics of the measurable functions are regarded. The first \(\Omega^*_p(f,t)\) is connected to the \(p\)-integrability of the functions on balls, the second \(\Omega_p(f,t)\), with \(p\)-integrability of the functions outside balls. It is proved that if \(1<p<\gamma^{-1}\) and \(q^{-1}=p^{-1}-\gamma\) then \(\Omega^*_q(T_\gamma f,t)\) \((\Omega_q(T_\gamma f,t))\), can be estimated from above by an integral of \(\Omega^*_p(f,t)\) \((\Omega_p(f,t))\), respectively. In consequence the authors introduce the function spaces \(\Gamma^*_{p\theta,\varphi}(X,\mu)\) and \(\Gamma_{p\theta,\varphi}(X,\mu)\), \(1\leq p<\infty\), \(1\leq\theta\leq\infty\) and \(\varphi\) being a positive function on \((0,\mu(X))\). They are the Banach spaces of measurable functions satisfying the additional regularity properties formulated in terms of \(\Omega^*_p(f,t)\) \((\Omega_p(f,t))\), respectively. The spaces \(\Gamma^*_{pp,\varphi}(X,\mu)\) and \(\Gamma_{pp,\varphi}(X,\mu)\) coincide with certain weighted \(L_p\) spaces on \(X\). Under the same assumption about \(p\), \(q\), \(\gamma\) as above, and certain standard assumption on \(\theta\), \(\theta_1\), \(\varphi\), \(\psi\), it is proved that \(T_\gamma\) is a bounded operator from \(\Gamma_{p\theta,\varphi}(X,\mu)\) to \(\Gamma_{q\theta_1, \psi}(X,\mu)\) (similarly for \(\Gamma^*\)-spaces).
