The periodic 2D second Fornasini-Marchesini model is considered. An appropriate invariant 2D model is introduced. It is shown that the periodic model is asymptotically stable if and only if the invariant 2D model is asymptotically stable. The controllability and reconstructibility of the periodic 2D model are defined in terms of the invariant associated system. The deadbeat control and observers of the periodic 2D model are also studied.
